So software timing machines do require a computer and usually don't come with a nice microphone that can rotate in multiple positions. Personally I'm a big fan of self-contained timing machines with a nice microphone that rotates in multiple positions. S if you look at the specifications there are limited in their timing ranges not as nice as the other. Then notice they have unique numbers like 1000 and other numbers to confuse you with the other Chinese timing machines. Now just to make things a little more confusing here's the German distributor for the other Chinese timing machines.

Looks like the 2000 adds a printer and there are some other features which you have to go looking to the manuals to see what they are. The 1900 has a nicer screen than the 1000 which I always thought had a course looking screen the pixels are really big. Then the chart doesn't explain the whole story because there are differences between the machines. I do think the chart could do a better job of explaining the resolutions of the various liquid crystal displays. The first link has the 1000 machine with a comparison chart of the various machines are selling. I only looked at a couple of but it looks like all of them will let you download a manual. So in the absence of a manufacturer the link below specifically the second link takes you to a distributor showing all the different machines there selling. One of the problems with the Chinese timing machines is trying to track down the manufacture and technical data. So while their very similar they are missing a few things that witschi has. Then the 1000 1900 have ranges very similar to the witschi. So on the chart the model 4000 represents the one type that seems to be limited range capability. For the Chinese machines they seem to break into two types of internal programming or perhaps two manufacturers for the microprocessors programming. The problem with using a comparison chart is it doesn't entirely give the whole story.
